Chance The Rapper Critiques Miley Cyrus' Hosting Duties At MTV VMAs

Chance The Rapper wasn't a fan of Miley Cyrus' hosting job at the 2015 MTV VMAs last night. Miley Cyrus was the host of last night's MTV VMAs. In brief summation, she rocked outrageous and unabashedly ugly outfits, wore fake dreads, promoted her ~super cool~ love of marijuana, dissed Nicki Minaj's issues with the VMAs and participated in several corny skits. A lot of people weren't feeling it, and Chance The Rapper was one of them. We were live tweeting during the VMAs last night, and Chance did the same, however he was definitely a tad more critical, and rightly so. In several tweets, Chance pointed out some of the faults with Miley's hosting, whether it was her commentary or her outfit. What were your thoughts on the event, or Miley Cyrus' hosting in general? Sound off in the comments.

Isaiah Rashad Teases A New Project Coming Soon

Isaiah Rashad says he submitted a project to TDE. Isaiah Rashad has been quiet since joining the Top Dawg family in 2013. Though there have been whispers of a collab with Ab-Soul, he's only released one project via TDE, Cilvia Demo EP in February 2014. But it appears that we'll be hearing more from him soon. Sunday evening, he tweeted out rather casually that he'd just submitted a project to TDE CEO Anthony Tiffith. "Just turned in this project to [Anthony Tiffith]," he wrote. "Look like we might be jammin out in a minute huh..." Hopefully Tiffith approves the project ASAP. IF you're looking for other Tennessee rappers to tide you over in the mean time, check out Tim Gent's Clarksville Nights, one of the most underrated mixtapes of the year.

Jay Z Caved And Got An Instagram Account

Give the homie @hovsince96 a follow. Jay Z finally caved and got an Instagram account, opting for the handle @hovsince96. He dedicated his inaugural post with a tribute to Michael Jackson, who would have turned 57 years old today. The picture depicts a younger Jay Z rocking a Latrell Sprewell jersey and posing with the late singer. “Happy Birthday to the King! This may be my first and last post," he wrote. Jay Z isn't much of a Twitter guy either, except for that time when he rattled off an extensive Twitter defense of Tidal. As of press time, it's been three hours since Jay Z's post and he's already racked up 70,000 Instagram followers.

Police Sketch Bears Strange Resemblance To T.I., According To Twitter

Twitter users found a police sketch released yesterday looked an awful lot like T.I. Yesterday, Fox 5 Atlanta reported on an attempted abduction in Atlanta, sharing a police sketch of the man in question. The picture drew a fair amount of attention on Twitter, unfortunately not to bring awareness to a dangerous threat in the neighborhood, but instead the drawing's strange resemblance to rapper T.I. The image was passed around on social media, with users commenting on the coincidental look-a-like. While it's not really a subject to joke about, it's easy to see the comparison. Just to be clear, it goes without saying that T.I. didn't actually have anything to do with the incident. Take a look at the tweets from users below. Do you see any resemblance between the sketch and the ATL rapper? Meanwhile, T.I. is said to be working on his 10th studio album, which -- last we heard -- is set to be titled, The Dime Trap.

Listen To OVO Sound Radio Episode 4 With Majid Jordan's Jordan Ullman

Check out the new episode of OVO's Beats 1 radio show.

OVO Radio was back for another installment Saturday evening, and this time it was Jordan Ullman, one half of OVO duo Majid Jordan, who took the hot seat.

The show started with a lengthy set from OVO's resident tastemaker, Oliver El-Khatib, which featured music from ASAP Rocky, Ginuwine, Jai Paul, and an exclusive from Reekz & Section Boyz. Halfway through, Drake called in (using the heavy Scarborough accent we heard in his Jungle short film), explaining he's in the "cave" working on his album.
After that, Jordan went on to play some exclusive instrumentals, as well as a brand new song from Majid Jordan.

Listen and check out the full tracklist below.

ASAP Rocky Talks Respect For Tyler, The Creator & Recording "Electric Body" With ScHoolboy Q

ASAP Rocky shares some thought on his upcoming tour with Tyler, The Creator, and his stoned studio sessions with ScHoolboy Q.

ASAP Rocky recently announced a co-headlining tour with Tyler, The Creator, but so far, we hadn't really heard his thoughts on hitting the road with the Odd Future wildman. In a new interview with Revolt, Rocky spoke of the general respect he has for Tyler as a renaissance man.

"I fuck with Tyler's whole movement," he said. "His aesthetic, what he does -- directs his own videos, produces his own beats, designs his clothes, ran his crew for a while, ran companies and stuff like that. Just being a fellow artist I respect that.
Later on, Pretty Flacko shared his favorite recording session from his recent album, ALLA. His answer was quick, and seemed to be based more on the antics that ensued during the process than the actual music being laid down.
"Probably 'Electric Body,' with Schoolboy," Rocky said with a stoned giggle. "Schoolboy a fool man. That motherfucker was in there smoking big-ass paper blunts and shit. Old-ass man and shit. Granddaddy Q. Shout out to my boy."

Kanye West Addresses Homophobia In Unearthed Video

“Everyone in Hip Hop discriminates against gay people," Kanye West says.

Kanye West spoke out against homophobia in Hip Hop in an interview with Sway that debuted on MTV News 10 years ago.

“Everybody in Hip Hop discriminates against gay people,” Kanye West says in the video from 2005. “Matter of fact, the exact opposite word of ’Hip Hop,’ I think, is ’gay.’ You play a record and if it’s wack, 'That’s gay, dog!. And I wanna just come on TV and just tell my rappers, just tell my friends, 'Yo, stop it fam. That’s discrimination.'”

Kanye West says that when he was in high school he was surrounded by homophobia. It was the status-quo.

“Everyone in high school is like, ‘You actin like a fag. Yo, you gay,’” Kanye West says. “It made me homophobic.”

This attitude led to more discrimination from the likes of West and his thugged-out friends.

“Anybody that was gay I was like, 'Yo, get away from me,’” Kanye West says. “It’s like I was racing to try to find that constant masculine role model right there, right in front of me. I would use the word 'fag' and always look down upon gays.”

Kanye West’s mentality changed once he found out that a family member of his was gay.

“My cousin told me another one of my cousins is gay that was the turning point,” Kanye West says. “This is my cousin. I love him. Do I discriminate against my cousin?”

Last month, Kanye West appeared on I Am Cait, which focuses on the new identity of his former father-in-law Bruce Jenner, and expressed this open-mindedness.

“I think this one of the strongest things that’s happened in our existence as human beings that are so controlled by perception,” Kanye West says in a video clip. “Cuz you couldn’t have been up against more. Your daughter is a supermodel. You’re a celebrity. Every type of thing and it was still like, 'Fuck everybody. This is who I am.'”
