Nas A "Huge Creative Force" On Netflix Hip Hop Series "The Get Down

Executive producer Baz Luhrmann details Nas' role on the upcoming '70s hip hop drama. During an interview at the Tribeca Film Festival, Baz Luhrmann spoke on Nas' involvement in his Netflix '70s hip hop drama "The Get Down," calling the rapper "a huge creative force" in shaping the aesthetic of the series, which follows a posse of struggling South Bronx teens during the genesis of hip hop. “One of the great collaborations is that I’ve been working really closely in creating these rhymes, and he’s a producer on the film, with one of the most iconic voices of the ‘90s and that’s Nas," Luhrmann said. "And so Nas has been this other huge creative force in the production. And it’s been playing really, really successfully.”
